Welcome
We are your resource for comprehensive integrative, preventative, and restorative medical services. By promoting self-health concepts, strategies, and techniques, we empower you to achieve optimal health as described in Balancing Act, A Mind, Body, and Spirit Approach to Optimal Health. We are an established practice with more than three decades of experience, but more than that we are your partner in your pursuit of optimal health.
Our Philosophy
We believe that knowledge can be empowering. The more we understand how our body functions and the mechanisms that cause imbalance and disease, the better prepared we are to improve our health. Our office is committed to educating you about your body, how it works and how to heal it. We believe in working with our patients as partners, to learn from each other in our journey together to maximize health.
Integrative/ With Conventional medicine as a base, we go beyond with a Mind-Body-Spirit approach to whole health as described in Balancing Act, the book written by Dr. De La Cruz and given to his patients.
Preventative/ Preventative medical services are based on an understanding of how stress, environmental toxins, food allergy/sensitivities and hormone imbalances start the shift from balance and health to imbalance, symptoms and disease.
Restorative/ Restorative medicine is science and human physiology, not pharmacology. Science has already discovered the knowledge of the nutrients, herbs and natural bio-identical hormones already being used by gifted medical practitioners for restoring health naturally.
Dr Marco
As a board certified family physician with over 30 years experience, I have come to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of conventional medicine. Opening a blocked coronary artery, or antibiotics to cure a pneumonia is the stuff of miracles, indeed. However, the more common, chronic diseases do not do as well in the conventional approach of making a diagnosis and choosing a pharmaceutical drug. These medications may be helpful, but they do not cure or restore health. Unfortunately, side effects can reduce the quality of life and even cause death. I believe there cannot be limits to the search for answers to my patient health problems. This belief has guided me in the development of a personalized, integrative approach to optimal health. By using conventional medicine as a starting point and using effective remedies from natural and nutritional medicine, am able to provide my patients with the counsel they seek and be a more effective partner in health.
Education
After completing my Undergraduate Studies at Bradley University, I attended the University of Illinois Medical School. Upon completing a three year Residency at Chicago’s Swedish Covenant Hospital, I became a Board Certified Family Physician and began a two year program in family and marital counseling at the Family Institute of Northwestern University.
